What is the date that Uncharted 2 will come out? Based on the best-selling videogame series of the same name, Uncharted is a world-hopping adventure movie in which Tom Holland plays Nathan Drake on his first mission to find treasure. But after those two scenes after the credits at the end of 2022, many fans are already looking forward to the next part of Sony’s movie version.
Uncharted, which comes out in February 2022, is a story set before the famous video game explorer Nathan Drake and his team with Victor “Sully” Sullivan (Mark Wahlberg). In the action movie, Nathan goes through underground vaults, falls out of planes, and blows up old pirate ships on his way to getting back a 500-year-old fortune and finding out what happened to his long-lost brother.
At the end of the movie, there were still a lot of questions, and Nathan and Sully got a new map. So, even though Uncharted 2 hasn’t been officially announced yet, it’s clear that a new franchise is about to start.

Speculation Around the Uncharted 2 Release Date
Sony hasn’t confirmed a sequel to Uncharted yet, so there is no news about when it will come out. But since the action movie made over $21.5 million in its first weekend at the international box office, we think Uncharted 2 news will come out at some point, and probably soon. Hopes are high.
If Uncharted 2 does get made, we hope it won’t have the same rough start as the first game. Uncharted was first announced in 2008, and after a few crew changes, it was thought that filming would start in March 2020.
But because of the global pandemic, this wasn’t done until July 2020. Reshoots happened in July 2021, and the movie didn’t come out until February 2022. So, in short, it took a long time for Uncharted to come out.
Sony has definitely learned from the whole thing, so filming Uncharted 2 should go more smoothly (again, fingers crossed). Still, we wouldn’t get too excited about anything happening before early 2025.

Uncharted 2 Plot Rumours
There isn’t yet an official plot summary for Uncharted 2. But because of the two after-credits scenes at the end of the first movie and the video games that the movie is based on, we can start to figure out what the story of Uncharted 2 might be.
In Uncharted, Nathan and Sully become treasure hunters together after barely getting away from Sully’s greedy ex-boyfriend Braddock. But, as the film’s credits show, the two are just getting started, and Braddock’s place has already been taken by a new bad guy.
Gage, a treasure hunter who wanted Nathan’s family ring, was introduced. In the second scene after the credits, Sully and Nathan ran away from Gage after a bad deal. So it looks like Sully and Nathan will be on the run at the start of Uncharted 2, and Gage will be right behind them.
Fans of the Uncharted games may have already figured out that the first movie wasn’t a direct adaptation, but rather a loosely based prequel that took parts from all the games in the series.
With this in mind, we know that Uncharted 2 won’t just follow the stories of the first game. But a big part of its story may be about the same plot we all know and love from the first Uncharted game, Drake’s Fortune.
Do you remember that ring we talked about? Well, in the games, that family heirloom is the key to finding Sir Francis Drake’s coffin. Sir Francis Drake is Nathan’s ancestor, and his coffin holds the location of El Dorado, the lost city of gold.
Since the ring was so important in the scene after the credits, Nathan and Sully’s next treasure-hunting trip will probably be similar to Drake’s Fortune. So pack your bags, because it looks like the gang is going to South America.
We also know that the second book will go into more detail about where Nathan’s lost brother Sam is and what happened to him. In the first scene after the credits in Uncharted, Sam is alive and in prison. He writes Nathan a postcard telling him to “watch his back.”
Uncharted 2 will probably explain why Sam is still alive, why he is in prison, and why Sully may have lied to Nathan about his brother’s death. All of this is very exciting, and we can’t wait to see what Sony has planned for Uncharted fans.
Uncharted 2 Cast Rumours
Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland, who played Sully and Nathan in the first game, are likely to be back as Sully and Nathan in Uncharted 2. In the scenes after the credits of the last movie, the two were working together to find treasure and looking for their next big score, so it makes sense to see them back on the big screen.
But there is a casting catch before we can all dance for Holland’s joy. Nathan’s role could be played by someone else. In an interview for 2021, Holland said that making the first Uncharted wasn’t a great time because it was so focused on the images. He went on to say that he wouldn’t do another movie with the same rough-and-tumble style.
“It was a valuable lesson because sometimes it was less about getting a mark and doing this scene and more about getting a mark, standing like this, and showing off my bulging biceps,” the star said. “It was a mistake, and it’s likely something I won’t do again.”
So if Uncharted 2 wants to keep Holland, it will have to give him more to do in the story. The actor who plays Spider-Man also has a busy schedule because he is in the Fred Astaire biopic. This may make it hard to film Uncharted 2 in the future, but we will let you know as soon as we find out more.
