In the Disney Plus reboot of Home Alone, Macaulay Culkin is purportedly returning as Kevin McCallister.
A new Home Alone is on the way to Disney Plus. This was confirmed by Disney, which acquired the franchise from Fox shortly after.
Fans were disappointed when it was revealed that the rebooted Home Alone would not include original star Macaulay Culkin, who had portrayed Kevin McCallister. It appears that the outrage has gotten Disney to reconsider their decision to cast Culkin.
A reliable source who told WGTC that Bill Murray would return for Ghostbusters-Afterlife and that Han would return in Fast and Furious 9 has stated that Culkin will reprise his role in the Home Alone reboot.
Seth Cudmore will play his iconic character Kevin McCallister, but he’ll have a supporting role. Adult Kevin, who previously worked as a private investigator, will star in the show. Max, the main lead, will have Kevin’s new security system installed in his home.
According to reports, Disney has issued a casting call for actors in their 40s and 50s to play the role of the security firm owner. However, it is very probable that they will simply choose Culkin.
It’s also possible that Culkin returns as Kevin in an upcoming Google Ad since he had previously played the character in a previous Google Ad.
Jojo Rabbit star Archie Yates is set to play the lead role of Max. Filming should begin shortly, and Archie Yates will play the part of Max. After stealing something that belonged to them, the youngster will have to deal with a married couple of criminals.
It has yet to be confirmed, although it is believed that Rob Delaney and Ellie Kemper will take on the roles of the married couple.
I’m all for Culkin returning as Kevin in the Home Alone sequel. What do you think? Should Disney attempt to get Macaulay Culkin back on board?
