The legendary platformer franchise was created by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka, both of whom are Japanese game designers.
With such a tremendous amount of popularity, it’s only natural to anticipate the game to be adapted into a television series.
For years, there have been reports that Netflix will be the home of the adaptation.

Is a ‘Legend of Zelda’ TV series adaptation on the way to Netflix?

In the Fall of 2017, The Wrap stated that Adi Shankar was in talks to produce a TV series on Zelda. 3 years later, in 2018, The Wrap reported that Adi Shankar was negotiating a deal to develop a television series about Zelda.
Shankar was the star of Netflix’s animated program.
The Game of Thrones star revealed that he’s working with a Japanese business on a video game series adaptation for television.
‘A live-action adaptation of a legendary Japanese video game series. Working with an iconic Japanese gaming company to adapt one of their best-known video game series into a new, live-action format.’
Adi was mistaken for referring to “Legend of Zelda.” However, a few months later, the actor revealed that he would in fact be working on the Devil May Cry series.
The rumors subsided in 2019 and 2020, but they were reignited in September 2020 after We Got This Covered claimed that Tom Holland was being considered for the lead role in the upcoming adaptation.
The news came from the same source who leaked Ben Affleck’s involvement in The Flash, according to the entertainment site, and a Witcher prequel is currently in development long before it was officially announced.
Aside from that, there are other reasons for fans to hold on to their beliefs that the series will be aired on Netflix.
