Based on the best-selling manga of the same name, the 2020 debut of Jujutsu Kaisen caused a sensation in the anime community. Fans from around the world fell in love with Yuji Itadori and his fellow Jujutsu Sorcerers (specifically Gojo) and have eagerly anticipated the return of the series for its second season.
Nearly three years have passed since the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen, and we finally have a substantial update on the series’ future. Here is everything known about the second season of the show.
Recap of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1
The shonen battle anime Jujutsu Kaisen is based on the works of author Gege Akutami. Yuji Itadori, a high school student, vows to live by his dying grandfather’s words: “Always help others” and “die surrounded by people.”
In a world filled with cursed spirits, Itadori’s Occult Club friends make the mistake of luring spirits to their school. Itadori becomes the vessel for the powerful curse Ryomen Sukuna in a bizarre turn of events.
The second arc of Jujutsu Kaisen centered on Itadori’s training to become stronger, and the series finale teased Yuta Okkotsu. Itadori can retain control of his body, so Satoru Gojo invites him to a Jujutsu High School, where in exchange for his freedom he agrees to help them track down curses.
From this location, Gojo, Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki protect the world from supernatural threats. In 2021, when the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 debuted in theaters, fans were ecstatic.
Okkotsu trains under Gojo while gaining a better understanding of cursed spirits to free his friend Rika Orimoto, who is now cursed. Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will focus on Satoru Gojo’s younger years before the events of Season 1.
When Will Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Be Released?
The second season of Jujutsu Kaisen will premiere on July 6, 2023. The series will be available on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu following its initial broadcast in Japan.
There is currently no release date for the English dub of the series, but don’t worry. Jujutsu Kaisen’s dubbed version will likely be available in August.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Cast: Who’s in It?
Here are the main Japanese and English voice actors we think will be back for season two of Jujutsu Kaisen:
• Yuji Itadori – Junya Enoki (Japanese); Adam McArthur (English)
• Megumi Fushiguro – Yuma Uchida (in Japanese) and Robbie Daymond (in English)
• Nobara Kugisaki – Asami Seto (Japanese); Anne Yatco (English)
• Maki Zen’in – Mikako Komatsu (Japanese); Allegra Clark (English)
• Toge Inumaki – Kōki Uchiyama (Japanese); Xander Mobus (English)
• Panda was written in Japanese by Tomokazu Seki and in English by Matthew David Rudd.
• Satoru Gojo – Yūichi Nakamura (Japanese); Kaiji Tang (English)
Kiyotaka Ijichi is played by Mitsuo Iwata in Japanese and Chris Tergliafera in English. Shoko Ieiri is played by Aya End in Japanese and Ryan Bartley in English.
But what about the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen 0, Yuta Okkotsu? The manga hints that he’ll be in the main show soon, and a scene after the credits in the prequel movie pretty much confirms that.
What Will Happen in Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen?
The Death Painting Arc, which is chapters 55–64 in the manga, was the last part of the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen. We now know that ‘Gojo’s Past Arc,’ from chapters 65 to 79, is where season two will pick up the story in its original order.
After the flashback arc, we’ll go back to Jujutsu High for the Shibuya Incident arc. This has been confirmed by trailers and teaser images.
Without giving away too much, this means that a lot will happen to the characters in season two, and we’ll find out who the mole is who is hiding in the school. A scene after the credits in Jujutsu Kaisen 0 hinted that Yuta will soon show up. This is great in theory, but it doesn’t look good for Yuji.

For now, only season 1 is available on Crunchyroll. We are still waiting for official confirmation that season 2 will be on the platform.
