When will the second season of Invasion come out? The original TV series, which is only available on the streaming service Apple TV Plus, had its first ten-episode run from October to December 2021. Shortly before the thrilling season finale, the streamer announced that the alien drama series would be back for more.
As the name suggests, Invasion looks at what would happen if aliens came to Earth from places like Japan, the UK, Afghanistan, and the US. Simon Kinberg and David Weil, who are known for their work on the X-Men movies and the drama series Hunter, came up with the idea for the show.
Kinberg said in a statement after the series was renewed, “I’m deeply thankful to Apple for being so helpful every step of the way and for trusting us to make a deeply human, emotional alien invasion story.
I’m really excited about what we have planned for season two, which will expand our universe in intimate and epic ways. Read on to learn important details about the Invasion season 2 release date, plot, and more, as well as how this expansion will play out.
Season 2 of Invasion Release Date Rumors
Apple TV Plus said that the second season of Invasion will start in December 2021. But almost a year later, there is still no official date for when the sci-fi show will come out.
We know that season 1 ended filming in March 2021 and that the show came out seven months later, so we can probably use a similar schedule for season 2.
The second season of Invasion started filming in January 2022, and KFTV said that it would go on until “late summer” in the UK and South Africa. Since then, we haven’t heard that filming has been delayed, so we can assume that season 2 will be done by the end of August 2022.
So, if the post-production process for season 2 is the same as it was for season 1, it’s likely that season 2 of Invasion won’t come out until early spring 2023 at the latest. In either case, an official release date should be coming out soon.

The Second Season of Invasion Storyline Speculation
Invasion’s season 1 finale focused on what happened after the US government nuked the main alien ship, but according to the TV show’s announcement for season 2, the invasion will continue.
Ward sees what looks like another spaceship on the beach, and Mitsuki seems to see something scary on the JASA system. This suggests that there will probably be more space invaders in season 2.
Since Ahmed is dead, we can also expect season 2 to look at how his death affected his wife, Aneesha, and the rest of his family. There’s also the fact that Casper, who barely escaped death, has some kind of supernatural connection to the aliens. This will be very important to the story as it goes on.
In an interview with Collider, Simon Kinberg, who is in charge of the show, also gave hints about what to expect from season 2. “As we’ve talked about it and imagined it, there would be more characters as the seasons went on. He said that there would be more main characters.
“From Season 1, there would be a lot more side characters who would interact with our main characters.” There would be chances for our characters to get better, real challenges for them to face in terms of how they grow after season one, breakups, reunions, new loves, and lost loves. I’d like to find out more about a lot of things in future seasons.”
Speculation Regarding the Season 2 Cast of Invasion
We’ll probably see Mitsuki (Shiori Kutsuna) and Trevante Ward, who were still alive at the end of season 1 of Invasion. As the invasion goes on, it’s likely that we’ll meet new characters.
Also, Sheriff John Bell Tyson (Sam Neill) and Ahmed Malik (Firas Nassar) seem to be dead for sure, but Casper’s connection to the hive mind might be able to bring Tyson back, and Ahmed might show up in flashbacks.
- Golshifteh Farahani as Aneesha Malik
- Shamier Anderson as Trevante Cole
- Shioli Kutsuna as Mitsuki Yamato
- Billy Barratt as Casper Morrow
- Azhy Robertson as Luke Malik
- Tara Moayedi as Sarah Malik
- Daisuke Tsuji as Kaito Kawaguchi

With the Macintosh computer, the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad, and the AirPods, Apple has changed the way hundreds of millions of people around the world use technology. In November 2019, with the launch of Apple TV+, Apple entered the increasingly crowded and creatively thriving world of content streaming.
Apple TV+ joined and competed with established brands like Netflix, Amazon’s Prime Video, and Hulu. After starting out with shows like “See” with Jason Momoa and “The Morning Show” with Reese Witherspoon, Apple TV+ grew into a place where creator-driven science fiction and fantasy entertainment could thrive.
In addition to “For All Mankind,” a show about an alternate history space race, Apple TV+ released sci-fi shows like “Severance,” “Foundation,” and “Invasion,” which was co-created by “The Martian” producer Simon Kinberg and will come out in 2021.
Apple TV+ renewed “Invasion” for a second season in December 2021, according to Deadline. When Season 2 is ready, it will be available only on the tech company’s streaming service, right next to Season 1.
