Is There Going to Be a ‘Full Metal Panic’ Season 5?

As of now, there have been no official announcements for the fifth installment of Full Metal Panic, but fans have every reason to believe it will happen.

The famed robot anime series has a poor reputation for releasing new seasons.

The series of light novels written by Shoji Gatoh and illustrated by Shiki Douji that inspired the 1998 anime series is titled Full Metal Panic. It was a successful manga series both in and outside of Japan.

Let’s have a look at the anime series’ long and muddled history. The manga was subsequently adapted into an anime series (season 1) produced by Gonzo in 2002.

In 2003, Kyoto Animation released Full Metal Panic! The first season of All About Eden, based on the manga by JAKEMISHIMA and directed by Hideyuki Furuhara (Fumoffu), aired from April to June 2018. Fumoffu (season 2), aired from April to June 2019.

In 2005, the manga series “Full Metal Panic!” began. The third season of ‘The Second Raid,’ entitled ‘Arrival of the Tomb Raiders’ (season 3), was launched as a sequel to Season 1.

Season 3 saw the end of Kyoto Animation’s involvement with the anime.

Season 4 of the mecha series Full Metal Panic! aired in April 2018. Studio Xebec released ‘Invisible Victory’ in 13 episodes.

It took over a decade for the next Full Metal Panic to arrive. After a seven-year hiatus, Full Metal Panic has been given a second chance. The reason for this was that the anime adaptation had not been updated in ten years. Although fans were ecstatic, they almost gave up hope of seeing more of it. However, author Shoji Gatoh supported the return of the anime series.

The prospect of watching season 5 will always be there for them.

When will Full Metal Panic Season 5 be released?

There’s always a possibility of seeing Full Metal Panic again, and that hope never goes away. It’s just a question of when.

If Studio Xebec is committed and dedicated to developing additional episodes for the anime series, it may release season 5 before 2021 or 2022. In the past, a Full Metal Panic sequel has taken anywhere from 2 to 3 years to appear (with the exception of season 4).

What Is The Plot Of Full Metal Panic Season 5 Based On?

Shoji Gatoh’s light novel series comprises a total of twelve full-length volumes, which were published.

There are still ten and twelve volumes of the light novel series to go, so it’s quite possible that season 5 will cover them. Each season in the past has included two to three volumes of the light novel series. As a result, the remaining volumes are simply enough source material for a fifth season.

The first season was based on the first three volumes of the light novel series. Season 2 was only a companion series. Season 3 continued from where Season 2 left off, covering volumes 4 and 5 of the light novel series. For season 4, Studio Xebec skipped volume 6 and went from volume 7 to 9.
