Dead to Me Season 3 Release Date on Netflix

Do you know that season two of Dead to Me has been out on Netflix for almost three years? (Yes, that’s how long it’s been.) We’re here to tell you that the popular show is *finally* coming back to the streaming service. Only, this is the third and last season of the show (womp womp). So, what can fans look forward to in the next part?

Here’s what we know about season three of Dead to Me.

Has Netflix Announced the Third Season of ‘Dead to Me?

You bet! Deadline said in July 2020 that Netflix had picked up Dead to Me for a third and final season. Liz Feldman, who created the series, will be back as the executive producer and showrunner for the last episode.

Why does the show end after only three seasons? The show’s creator talked to The Hollywood Reporter in August 2020 about why she thought the show should end after the third season.

She said at the time, “I always felt like I wanted this show to be over pretty quickly.” “Halfway through season two, I had an idea that felt very true to the show and that I thought could be a great way to end it… Sometimes I worry that I’m making a mistake by letting go of the amazing chemistry between Christina and Linda, but this feels like the right way to end the story.”

What is Season Three of “Dead to Me” About?

Warning: There will be a twist! Over the last two seasons, there have been a lot of plots with twists and turns. In Season 1, the truth about Judy’s role in the death of Jen’s husband comes out, and in the last episode, Jen kills Judy’s ex-husband, Steve (James Marsden). In Season 2, the two friends have to decide what to do with the body.

They end up burying him in the woods, but then everyone, including his twin brother Ben, comes looking for him (also played by Marsden). In the last episode, Jen and Judy are driving home together when Ben, who is very drunk, hits them with his car. Judy and Jen live through the crash, but Ben speeds away without knowing they were in the car.

So, what’s next? Well, that is, of course, the question. Feldman said that this season, Ben will go on “quite a journey.” Does he find out that Jen, the person he’s seeing, killed his brother? Will Jen and Judy figure out that Ben was the one who hit them?

There’s also the question of Steve’s plan to launder money and whether or not Ben will be pulled into it. Also, it’s not clear what Charlie, Jen’s son, will do now that he knows his mom killed Steve. Don’t forget that he found the letter Jen sent to Judy in which she admitted to killing the man.

The cast and crew haven’t said much about Season 3, but one thing is for sure: the show will still have a dark sense of humor, and if the brand-new trailer is any indication, there will be a lot of F-bombs as usual.

In the trailer, there are spine-tingling recaps of the last two seasons, and we also see Jen in the hospital recovering while wearing a neck brace and being very rude about her pain. (Really, you should see it. It’s very funny.)

Who Will Appear in Season 3 of Dead to Me?

In Bridgerton, everyone’s favorite dashing duke was killed off, but in Dead to Me, all of the main actors are set to come back. We know this because Feldman thanked them in a tweet along with the news that filming was done.

This includes Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini, James Marsden, Diana Maria-Riva (Detective Perez), Sam McCarthy (Jen’s son Charlie), Luke Roessler (Jen’s son Henry), Brandon Scott (Nick Prager), and Suzy Nakamure (Karen).

We still don’t know if everyone will make it through this season. Jen and Judy might have to get rid of a few more people if they want to stay out of jail. At the top of the list of possible targets? Ben.

Jen didn’t think twice about killing his twin brother, so she might not think twice about killing the guy who almost killed her and Judy in a hit-and-run, even if they are dating. On the other hand, if Ben finds out that Jen killed his brother, it might be Jen who is in the most danger.

Will the Third Season of Dead to Me Be the Final?

Dead to Me Season 3 Release Date on Netflix

Sadly, yes. But Dead to Me wasn’t taken off the air. Feldman, who now has a long-term deal with Netflix, has said that she always intended for the show to have only a few seasons. She told the Hollywood Reporter in 2020, “I always felt like I wanted this show to be over pretty quickly.”

“I know how things work at Netflix. There aren’t many shows that last five, six, or seven seasons. It does happen sometimes, but it’s a rare case. Halfway through Season 2, I had an idea that felt very true to the show and that I thought could be a great way to end it.

So, it’s clear she knew how the story would end. Now, all we have to do is wait and see what she has planned for Jen and Judy.
