On March 4, 2020, FXX aired the first episode of the American comedy TV show Dave, which is written as DAVE. Rapper and comedian Lil Dicky and actor Jeff Schaffer, who plays the title character, worked together to make it. Some of the people on the production team are Kevin Hart and Greg Mottola.
GaTa, who is really the hype man for Lil Dicky, plays himself on the show. On May 11, 2020, the show was picked up for a second season, and the first episode of that season aired on June 16, 2021. On February 17, 2022, FXX said that the show would be brought back for a third season.
Date of Dave’s 3 Season
The FXX Channel hasn’t said for sure what it plans to do with the TV show “DAVE.” Based on what happened in the past, it looks like the third season of DAVE will start on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
Dave Season 3 Plot
After the promotion, Burd and Schaffer’s humor in “Curb Your Enthusiasm” looked like it could be good. Early episodes of FXX were better than expected, and the show got better as Season 1 went on.
Some episodes, moments, and choices stood out, like how well the pilot used music and how it was pointed out that Dave became famous in a genre that was started by Black performers.
This got people excited about a more consistent, creative, and united future. Season 2 keeps going up, but Dave and his viewers have to deal with the fact that he is white, which gives him an advantage.
At the end of Season 1, Dave’s ego caused a lot of trouble, but he didn’t play a bad song on live radio. After he broke up with Ally, Dave was so macho that he almost ruined everything (Taylor Misiak). Dave raps: “I know I’m lucky, but let’s not go there.” In Season 2, he is stuck between predetermined ways to become famous and the doubt that they are not his.
Dave hardly listens. Dave gets so focused on making a perfect, number-one debut album that he stops listening to his inner voice, his collaborators, and his friends. He is not a writer. He doesn’t have any songs for a new album.
Television has a hard time showing creativity or a lack of change. The stories in “Dave” change quickly to show how the main character’s special attention is a luxury that not everyone can afford and a less satisfying way to live. Dave has trouble, but not everything is about him.
Season 2 focuses on GaTa (played by GaTa, a professional hype man who started working with Lil Dicky in 2013), Elz (Travis Bennett), Emma (Christine Ko), Dave’s parents Don (David Paymer), and Carol (Gina Hecht), and Doja Cat, who plays a version of herself.
Episodes 5–8 are especially painful because they “actively confront his whiteness as an identity within a system of identities, not just as a generic default.” All of the music, the performers, the tangents in the conversations, and the amazing creatures remind me of “Dave.”
“Pillow Talk” is an easy-to-understand song with some creative touches. Dave casually calls his girlfriend a “bitch,” brags about how smart he is, and brushes off her point of view. Even as a joke, Lil Dicky’s bad copying of a famous, self-promotional musician seems like an accident that happened because he wanted to be a professional rapper.
“Dave” is meant to be there. Characters’ lack of knowledge is used to teach about being selfless. If old reviews made you nervous about the series, you don’t need to be. The series is not a continuation of his music videos or a one-man show in front of or behind the camera.

Burd and Schaffer’s series is smart, honest, and aware of its place in the world and the goals of its characters. It is both a bawdy comedy that gives real, regular laughs and a good look at itself.
The situations in Season 2 are hilariously stupid. Lil Dicky may not have exploded in the Season 2 finale, but he’s back on a billboard doing something stupid and self-serving. “Dave” has moved forward. Maybe the people who made it knew where to go or found out as they went. Now, it’s one of the best shows on TV. Attention!
