Everything We Know So Far – Aquaman 2
Warner Bros.‘ ‘Aquaman 2’ has entered production. One possibility is that Princess Andromeda’s parentage will be revealed, which might explain why she is so eager to return home. Amber Heard, Jason Mamoa, and the rest of the main cast are returning their roles.
After unexpectedly grossing $1.15 billion in 2018, a sequel to ‘ ‘ appears to be just what the superhero film ordered. In January 2019, following a blockbuster success, Warner Bros greenlit a sequel and a spin-off (The Trench) in February.
The sequel is still over two years away, but fans are excited for the sequel.
Here’s everything we know so far about the game.
When Will ‘Aquaman 2’ Be In Theaters?
The producer has not yet confirmed the official release date, but I expect it will be later this year.
Pre-production on ‘ began last year. However, the cast was unable to begin production until mid-2021.
The sequel’s official title was revealed in early June 2021, when director James Wan posted a photo from a filming session on Instagram.
The follow-up to the blockbuster was officially announced in January, when KSI revealed via Instagram post that production had begun.
‘Aquaman 2’: Cast- Who Are Returning?
The title character, Aquaman, will be played by Jason Momoa once again. Despite the negative response and numerous petitions from Johnny Depp’s supporters to remove her, Amber Heard will be reprising her role as Mera in Aquaman.
Wilson also revealed that he will return for the sequel as King Orm/Ocean Master. The actor has already dropped a few hints about what the sequel will be about.
‘People have been using sci-fi movies as a template for a long time,’ Patrick added. ‘I can tell you that even [Wan’s] ideas for going farther than they’ve ever gone.’
Meanwhile, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has also announced his return as Black Manta.
The character’s name might not be Black Manta anymore, but the actor promised that he’ll return, and hopefully cause even more trouble than he did in the first one.
Dolph Lundgren will reprise his King Nereus of Xebel character from the TV series Atlantis. Arthur’s human father, Temuera Morrison, has also been confirmed to return.
What’s The Plot of The Sequel To Aquaman?
The actual narrative is still under wraps. However, based on the events of the first film, we have a few hypotheses.
The first movie focuses on Arthur Curry’s quest to learn more about his past and accept his fate.
The sequel will almost certainly focus on Aquaman’s reign as king. The stakes are even greater in Atlantis now that new dangers are on the rise. It is now up to him to preserve his realm.
Orm Arthur Curry’s Atlantean half-brother and former king of Atlantis, although deactivated for many years, is still alive at the conclusion of the film. We can’t rest easy in our ability to deal with him when we come to terms with his half-breed brother, since he may still pose risks to Arthur in the future.
Meanwhile, we know that the following sequel will not be based on a single comic book tale and that Black Manta will continue to be a major component of the film.
‘We’re not adapting any one particular comic book tale, but if you want to get an idea of how we’re going for the feel, check out almost any Silver Age Black Manta story,’ Johnson-McGoldrick explained in response to a fan on Twitter.
Hmm… Good question. We’re not adopting a specific comic book story, but if you want to know what we’re going for, pick up any Silver Age tale with Black Manta.
In an August 2021 interview, Wan said that the sequel will take a far murkier path. Finally, he explains the rationale behind it.
The first film, by the way, took many people by surprise. And that’s in part because they were unfamiliar with the comic book, which is set in a dark, macabre universe…people were shocked that I didn’t just toss everything away and make a dark, heavy film. If I’d had to choose at the time, my career and personal life would have taken precedence over everything else.
However, I didn’t feel it was appropriate for me to make such a choice. ‘So, with the second installment, I feel that it will be easier for people to accept where we are because I’ve already established the groundwork,’ she explains. What is really fascinating about this character is her ability to make things happen – whether it’s taming wild horses or helping Gwen achieve her dreams.’
