Girls, don’t put your Manolos away just yet. And Just Like That, which is a reboot/spin-off of Sex and the City, will bring back Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte for more.
The show follows three of the four beloved characters as they try to figure out life in 2021. It quickly became a show that all SATC fans had to see (though if it was a delightful catch-up with old friends or a hate-watch depends on who you ask).
If you thought they were crazy when they were in their 30s, you haven’t met them when they were in their 50s.
Even though there wasn’t as much sex this time, they still managed to get people excited, and we’re not just talking about the double-penis surprise in episode 8.
Samantha was “stuck in London” and missed out on all the “fun,” but the other girls went through a heartbreaking death, a breakup in their relationship, exploring their sexuality, and making new friends.
So we couldn’t help but wonder: What’s next for our New York girlfriends?
Here’s what’s next for Carrie and the rest of the group.
And a Possible Release Date for Season 2
In March 2022, the second season was given the green light.
Sarah Jessica Parker told her fans about the news on Instagram and thanked them for sticking with her through the Sex and the City spin-off.
She wrote next to a picture of the actors: “Part two. Thank you to everyone who came. Straightforward. You are our lifeblood. We love you so.”
Sarah told Variety in February that plans were already being talked about, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.
“Certainly, yes. Michael [Patrick King, the show’s creator] and I talked about this a couple of weeks ago. Because there is a calendar and you don’t want to wait too long. It seems to be going somewhere, “she told me.
As of July 2022, there was no news about the show’s progress, but it is thought that it has been written and that filming will likely start soon.
With this in mind, it’s likely to come out in December 2022 or even January 2023, which is the same time frame as the last one.

Who Will Be on and Just Like That Season 2?
Since they talked about how happy they were about season two, we can assume that both Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon will be in the new series. Since Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, was seen on set with SJP, we can also assume that she will also be in the second series.
But the BIG news is that Aidan Shaw (!! ), who used to be Carrie Bradshaw’s partner, will be back for a major plot point in season two. According to Deadline, Aidan Shaw (played by John Corbett) will meet up with his ex-girlfriend Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) on HBO Max’s And Just Like That…, and he is “set for a substantial, multi-episode arc on the second season of the Sex and the City follow-up.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Sarah Jessica Parker pretty much said the same thing. SJP said this when asked if Aidan would come back: “Maybe, maybe not. Well, you know, I can’t keep it a secret any longer.” We think that’s a yes.
The news comes after a pretty awkward situation with season one when Corbett said he was asked to be in the revival but the show’s creators said the conversation never happened. Awks.
In terms of the larger cast, it’s not clear who might show up in a sequel. So far, it’s been confirmed that Evan Handler, Sara Ramirez, and Alexa Swinton will all be in the next season. This is because they all posted pictures from the season two table read on their own Instagram accounts.
Fans want to see supporting actors like Mario Cantone, Evan Handler, David Eigenberg, and Cathy Ang.
Then there’s the question of whether we’ll see Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel and Ivan Hernandez as Franklyn, the guy Carrie kissed at the end of the season one finale.
And Just Like That Season 2 Storyline
At the end of the first series, Carrie went on a friendly computer date with Peter (Jon Tenney), who was also a widow. She then kissed Franklyn (Ivan Hernandez), who made her podcast. King has said that season 2 will start three weeks after the end of season 1.
This raises the question of whether or not she will continue this relationship into season 2, if she is ready to do so after Big’s death. This is likely to be a big question in the first few episodes.
Aidan, one of Carrie’s ex-boyfriends, is also coming back. This could make it harder for Carrie to get back together with Franklyn.
The new character Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez), a non-binary stand-up comedian and podcast host, slept with Cynthia Nixon in secret for a lot of the show. They meet because Carrie is on a podcast with Che about sex and relationships in the modern world for both men and women.
Che thinks Miranda and her husband Steve (David Eigenberg) are in an open relationship, but when she finds out this isn’t true, she breaks up with Miranda. Miranda and Steve also break up, and by the end of the series, Carrie has her own podcast.
We know that Miranda and Che will be in Los Angeles in season 2, but how long that will last is a different story. “Why, for the love of God, would I say Miranda was going to Los Angeles and then not show her there? King said to Variety.
One of Charlotte’s (Kristin Davis) and Harry’s (Evan Handler) children also comes out as non-binary and changes their name to Rock. Throughout the series, the gender spectrum has been looked at, and the series ends with an episode about Rock.
With some characters possibly going into open relationships and Miranda rethinking everything about her sexuality, the next series will have more fluidity in love and gender. This is a cute reflection of things that have happened in Nixon’s own life, because things that have happened to her have made her a strong supporter of LGBTQ+ rights.

Since it’s so early, there are still a lot of questions about when season two of “And Just Like That” will come out and other things. But since the characters are so well-known, we can be sure that they will continue to make us laugh as they try to figure out how to live in the modern world.
