4.30 pm Update: In a statement to Eurocamore, Amazon acknowledged a wide range of issues with its PlayStation 5 deliveries and promised it would be “perfect” for every customer it contacts.
“We all make our customers happy and it doesn’t happen in a small proportion of these orders,” an Amazon spokesman told us. “We are very sorry about that and are investigating what happened. We have been meeting with every customer, we had a problem, they let us know, so we can do it right. Anyone with a problem with any order can contact us at the Customer Services Team for assistance.”
Some of the customers we spoke to were asked to wait 48 hours to confirm that their deliveries were not blue yet, while others were given பரிசு 5 gift vouchers.
Original Story 2.30pm: Imagine saving a PlayStation 5 for launch day, eagerly waiting for your console to arrive and finding its box … instead of a kitchen device. Or cat food. Or even if your order is marked as finished, nothing is delivered.
This is what has happened to many Amazon UK customers over the past 24 hours, which has left people trying to withdraw a refund, and the task of finding a console again, as PS5 stock is severely limited.
The first reports of misrepresentations initially made were unlikely to be true – but they appeared late last night, before they began to spread widely today. In addition, within Eurocam, we have now heard from personally affected friends and colleagues.
False items included in each box are different, but the accounts are the same: late delivery, then Amazon box with clearer tape than the company’s regular trademark logo.
Among the victims was Anthony Dickens, managing director of Bush Square, who joined MTV journalist and presenter Bex April May.

Many reported pulling out a courier van – like recording delivery at a specific location – and then zooming in. An example of a complaint about this is that someone who later received their console – even after allegedly encountering the delivery driver further on the road:

This morning I spoke with Amazon customer Jamie al-Qadimi, who told me how he and his brother bought PS5 consoles and arranged to send both of them to his home. Since this is not his brother’s regular distribution location, Amazon provided a unique code to ensure that the distribution address can only be verified by his brother. Jamie’s order, as it came to his own home, did not qualify for this.
Jamie told me that they were watching the courier carrying both consoles, and when the van arrived, only his brother’s office was handed over. . One. Jamie’s brother refused.
As for Jamie, who thought the driver would return from his van with his own console … he was still waiting. The courier left and did not return.
Digital Foundry senior staff writer Will Judd had a similar problem – his order from Cam was recorded as being delivered to a neighbor, though Yodel says the delivery driver never handed it over.

I spoke with another customer today about an experience similar to Wills, again from Amazon. He and a friend were waiting for PS5 consoles in their local area and tracking their courier van. The two noticed an Amazon van being pulled out, and then both noticed that their consoles were marked as delivered, not attempting actual delivery.
Of course, the majority of people would have received their PS5 orders from Amazon yesterday – not yet saying how many more consoles Sony has replaced here in the UK. Many retailers struggled The game delayed its remaining shares yesterday morning, And Curries should stop selling on its own completely after accidentally taking orders too quickly.
However, it remains to be seen how Amazon will resolve the issues reported in the last 24 hours. Eurocommer has contacted the retailer for feedback.
