‘Internal,’ according to Cuaron. ‘Everything we know about the project came from within.’ The people in the book are real. It’s the people I adore. I needed to go on a trip down memory lane, into the mazelike structure of memory, and also speak with those who were there and had witnessed the events with me. ‘I would go back in my mind to the place that I imagined one event took place, and it would have changed,’ he added.
